Description
A George III Scottish Snuff Mull with Silver Mounts and decorated with a Thistle, bears the inscription H.C 1809 to it's hinged lid. No hallmarks but tested as Silver. The Scots took to snuffing much earler than the English but it was not made of Tobacco. Dried Sneezewort was used in traditional medicine for everything from toothache to flu better known as sneeshin. These Mulls were made by Coopers.
