Determined to make luxury more accessible, one of the dealers journeyed to India, seeking out a seasoned artisan who had once mastered the original Agra weaving techniques. Together, they meticulously resurrected the unique weave that defines Agra carpets, resulting in the creation of the Jailbird Collection.
The name "Jailbird" pays homage to the speculated origins of these designs, believed to have been woven by incarcerated artisans in Agra, Amritsar, and Jaipur. As these skilled craftsmen were relocated, the designs would have migrated, blurring the lines of their exact provenance.
