Blur Banksy Collab Think Tank 25th Nov 2003 UK Concert Poster

This is an original UK concert Poster issued in 2003 to promote a live performance by Blur at Wolverhampton Civic Hall as part of a small UK tour at the time.

The concert was held on November 25, 2003, and a second night was added at the time. (Assuming this was due to huge demand.) This poster was issued for November 25, 2003. Only this venue had two nights on the tour.

I used to attend events at the venue myself for live concerts and remember that the venue used to create many gig posters "in house" and would attach these to the corridors and doors to the bars and high footfall areas of the venue and the foyer to promote future events by using blutack.

At the front of the hall, there were a few rotundas outside that would have posters pasted on them over and over again, prominently at the entrances. On the left and right sides of the front entrances, four glass (possibly illuminated) cabinets were attached to the wall for more professionally issued promotional event posters (like this one ) and those display cases can be seen in searches on the internet going back to the 1960's up to the start of the more recent renovations, and photos up to 2006 of these can be seen. It is my considered opinion that this style of poster, with its size, would have been created for these cabinets, which i would imagine had other such cabinets in the foyer and perhaps on staircases to the first level.

A large and established once-a-month record collectors fair was held in the main hall, where specialist traders would attend. This was a very popular event, and this poster plus three further (Four in total) and other event posters were obtained from these events. These posters have recently been found in my posters storage area of thousands of unsorted posters. This Listing is for one of the posters only.

The poster itself is flawless. No tears, marks, or any damage is visible, and it has been carefully stored for 20+ years.
It is glossy.

This paper poster is original in every way and has not been reproduced. This poster is in near mint condition. It has never been used, and the photo shown is the actual poster; I don't use stock photos.

There was a collaboration between Blur and the street artist Banksy on this release of "Think Tank," the band's seventh album.
Wikipedia quote regarding the commission from the band: The album cover was stencilled by the graffiti artist Banksy. Despite Banksy stating that he normally avoids commercial work, he later defended his decision to do the cover, saying: "I've done a few things to pay the bills, and I did the Blur album. It was a good record, and the commission was] quite a lot of money.
