Signed and dated 1870.
Frederick Williamson 1835-1900, was British born. A talented landscape painter of meticulous technique. He exhibited at the RA, BI, SS. NWS. GG and many other Galleries. He specialised in painting the English Landscapes with Sheep, in his early period he used Pre-Raphaelite techniques, painting in great detail. One of his Landscapes hangs in the V&A. This fine picture of Sheep in a Landscape shows the skill of the artist and why he is so collectible. Signed.
