About Mike Atkinson
Born: 1937, Warwickshire, England.
Training: He studied at the Margaret Street College of Art in Birmingham, specialising in porcelain design, and is noted as one of the youngest students to receive a scholarship there.
Career: After college he became a freelance illustrator and painter, exhibiting in Britain, Europe and the United States.
Clients: His commercial work included commissions for the National Motor Museum, as well as designs for Royal Worcester and Royal Doulton, creating decorative porcelain and collector's plates.
