"Le Reflet" ,The Reflection, is a work by the French painter Pierre Outin (1840–1899). The scene depicts a woman in 18th-century attire admiring her own reflection in a highly polished copper pan.
Pierre Outin (1840–1899) was a celebrated French academic painter known for his versatile genre scenes, meticulous draftsmanship, and rich use of color. He is especially remembered for his romantic and historical portrayals of 18th-century "fêtes galantes".
He won first prize in the competition at the École des Beaux-Arts in 1863.
He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1868 and became a regular exhibitor.
In glazed gilt frame,with some losses.
