Description

A rare Meissen porcelain chocolate pot, dating to circa 1720, during the reign of Augustus the Strong, founder of the Meissen manufactory. This elegant piece is marked to the base with the AR (Augustus Rex) monogram, denoting one of the earliest periods of Meissen production. Finely hand-painted with Watteau-style figural scenes, the pot captures romantic, pastoral moments with delicate floral sprays. The lid is topped with a charming applied flower finial.
