Description

A good example of a 19th Century mug or tankard with brown and white transfer printed decoration of ‘Jolly Jack Tar’ to one side and ‘British Grenadier’ to the other.
Indistinct backstamp.
Jack Tar was the name given to seamen of the Merchant and Royal Navy.
British Grenadiers were historically a specialist soldier who threw grenades.
