Description
Feature the iconic vibrant turquoise lead glaze that made Awaji pottery famous worldwide. The deep blue-green color is often referred to as "Awaji Blue." The central motif is a high-relief, hand-applied dragon ("Ryu") intricately entwined around the neck of each vase.
A classic example of Awaji pottery, produced on Awaji Island, Japan, during the late 19th to early 20th century, Meiji to Taisho periods.
