Description
An interesting collectors or decorative item, this is a wall hanging plate or charger, hand made and painted, most likely in the second half of the 19th century. The subject is a merchant sailor or seafaring fisherman, smoking a clay pipe. There are shades of grey, green and gold in the artwork. There are no visible cracks or chips, although the plate has signs of surface wear and age on both sides. but remains an attractive piece of wall art.
