Description
This rare and distinctive antique ring, likely dating from the mid to late Victorian era, features a sophisticated geometric arrangement of precious stones. At its heart lies a vertical pairing of two hand cut Old Mine diamonds, a configuration that adds unique height and architectural interest to the design. This central axis is elegantly balanced on either side by a vibrant round cut ruby and an additional small Old Mine diamond, resulting in a balanced, horizontal cluster with a striking vertical core. The Old Mine cut diamonds are a hallmark of 19th century craftsmanship, recognisable by their deep pavilions, high crowns, and large open culet's that produce a warm, romantic glow rather than the sharp brilliance of modern cuts.
