Large silver brooch "Vela" designed by Björn Weckström for Lapponia 1973
Jewellery artist and sculptor Björn Ragnar Weckström (born in 1935) is Finland's most internationally renowned designers.
He also has a career as a sculptor, with exhibitions in several European countries.
Sculptural forms and textured surfaces characterize Weckström's jewellery. He created tension with flexible curved lines. Each material in Weckström's production, from gold to granite and acrylic, has its own characteristic visual language and significance.
