The Jefferson Glass Company, founded in 1900 in Follansbee, West Virginia, was an American pioneer in the production of opalescent glassware. They are particularly famous for their "Moonstone" range of light shades and fixtures, which were popular during the Art Nouveau and early Art Deco periods. Original examples, such as the light offered for sale here, are highly sought after by collectors for their quality and historical significance in American design history.
