Description
Presentation Plaque Reads:
Presented to H.M. The Queen by the society for the restoration of Brimstone Hill. Made by St Kitts (B’terre) Sugar Factory Ltd.
H.M The Queen visited St Kitts on the 22nd February 1966 where she visited the Basseterre Sugar Factory. She returned in 1985 where she viewed the restoration work being carried out at Brimstone Hill Fortress - which is now a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is not known which visit this was presented on but it is likely that it was later re-gifted as was purchased from a Country House Sale near Cambridge.
Damage to the backside of statue as photographed.
