A bronze cast as a huntsman set in a naturalistic heathland with his gun dog to form a hunting scene bearing the mark ‘MENE’. The figure (16cm x 15cm) is extremely well modelled with highly detailed well-defined features and a rich dark patina surmounted on a 20 cm x 12cm x 3cm marble base. The hunter is cast in bronze wearing traditional hunting attire of the early 20th century carrying his shotgun and bag along accompanied by his gun dog companion possibly a retriever; the photographs show the exceptional detail of the casting. The 19cm x 20cm x12cm marble based bronze weighs 2.28kg depicting a scene evocative of its era that has a sense of movement as expected of the artist.
