Description

A Rare Pair of Cast Silver-Gilt Salts, possibly Strasbourg, circa 1720, each oval, one with a hinged shell fluted cover, both on elaborate scroll feet, both marked, P.P. beneath a lozenge, 240 grams, and inscirbed in Capitals O.R. (2)

*** Provenance: By family descent from Count Niko Mirosevic-Sorgo, appointed Yugoslavian Ambassador to the Vatican in 1935  and after the declaration of war between Yugoslavia and Italy in London as a member of the Yugoslavian Government in exile.
