Duke of Wellington Signed Letter

Duke of Wellington Born 1759 - Died 1852. Rare signed letter from the Duke of Wellington dated 26th July 1833. The Duke defeated Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo after which Napoleon handed himself over to the Duke's British forces and was taken back to the UK before being exiled to the island of St Helena where he died. After his military service the Duke entered politics and was twice Prime Minister 1828-1830 and again in 1834. His address of number 1 London is now a museum in his memory. The letter is housed in a gold frame alongside an atmospheric picture of the Duke as Prime minister. To the reverse is a picture of the Duke in his military uniform. A rare and decorative piece of history. Appx 33cms x 28.5cms inc frame.
