Description

A very interesting and rare original hand written antique document. It is a large bankruptcy document written on vellum, for a James Lees a clothier of Greenacres Moor near Oldham in Lancashire, and a James Wild a yeoman of Oldham. It is dated the 17th October 1760. It lists all the creditors by name, with their signature or cross if they were illiterate. Besides there name is a wax seal, they owed 63 different people money. A fascinating document that would benefit from further research. Stock Code: 2634.
