Description

Original antique printed paper share certificate for the London & Birmingham Railway Company. It is dated 1833, only eight years after the start of the first public railway system in 1825. The certificate is for £100, that is over £10,000 in today's money. It is named to a William Butson of Newby Wiske Northallerton, a small villiage in North Yorkshire. It is dated the 19th September 1833, and is signed by two secretaries of the railway board. Certificate number 16886, complete with pink corporate seal. Stock Code: 3548.
