Description
Here is a very rare pair of British Airways menus for a state visit by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip to China. She became the first ever British monarch to visit China. She departed the UK on the 11th October 1986, returning on the 23rd October 1986. She flew to Muscat and onto Beijing and Shanghai. Then she sailed on the Royal Yacht Britannia to Hong Kong, before flying back to the UK via Muscat.
This pair of menus forms part of a group of eighteen menus for various state visits that were gifted by the Queen to a member of the royal household. We will list other menus over the coming months.
Each menu has the royal coat of arms to the front, and is tied by a blue silk ribbon.
