Description

This early twentieth century tin glazed earthenware cachepot, or planter, is designed in the traditional French or Italian faience style. The vessel features a heavily contoured, lobed body with a wide, wavy scalloped rim. The hand painted tin glaze decoration combines classic Baroque inspired scrolls and geometric latticework panels with delicate sprigs of brightly coloured botanical flora. Dominated by a palette of vibrant yellow, deep cobalt blue, green, and iron red against a creamy white ground.
