Description
Art Deco period fifteen piece bone china coffee set comprising of a coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl with six coffee cups and saucers all decorated in eye catching burnt orange, yellow and green on a white ground. The coffee pot with its locking double lipped lid bears the pattern design name of ‘Cape Gooseberry’ otherwise known as physalis or golden berry. All in the ‘Regent’ shape each piece is marked with the green Shelley backstamp, the pattern number 12299 in red and the registration number 781613. A typical Art Deco colour and shape in a highly collectable design created by SHELLEY the leading pottery of the 1930s is in excellent condition showing no signs of chips, cracks or wear.
