Description
Cobridge was formed by Moorcroft Pottery to try and rediscover the high-fired glazes that were lost when Ruskin Pottery’s founder destroyed them shortly before his death. Cobridge was kept separate to Moorcroft for marketing reasons because of the different techniques each adopted; tube lining with rich flowing glazes by Moorcroft and reactive high-temperature glazes by Cobridge,
Due to the proximity of the Cobridge and Moorcroft factories, the companies shared production techniques and designers such as Rachel Bishop, Anita Harris and Samantha Johnson. Anita and Sam were head hunted from Poole Pottery and later formed Anita Harris Studio after being made redundant when Cobridge failed in 2005.
