Royal Crown Derby began manufacturing fine porcelain in the 18th century and.is one of the oldest remaining porcelain potteries in England. George 111 granted permission to use the crown on their backstamp – hence the name ‘Crown Derby’ and in 1890 Queen Victoria gave them a royal warrant and they became known as ‘Royal Crown Derby’
