Description
Original 1940s Valve Radio - the Type A22 by Ekco (E.K. Cole Ltd. Southend-on-Sea). This is an iconic Art Deco example with stunning circular shape in a mottled brown bakelite that still has a good shine. Original bakelite knobs, back board intact (and inside appears clean). The canvas appears to be original, though a little stretched. The dial is in perfect condition. I purchased this as perfect, but upon closer inspection, there are hairline cracks to the case either side of the feet (only visible when tipping the radio on it's side). Superb looking item sold not in working order, though I was told that it had been working recently, so may just need a re-wire, sold purely as a decorative collectors item.
