This large and powerful image was completed in oil pastel and charcoal by Anne Magill in her last year at Art College, before undertaking a highly successful commercial art career. Subsequently, she turned to 'fine art' where she has enjoyed huge success, her work being shown for several years alongside Jack Vettriano at the well known West London Heartbreak gallery.
This work was completed in 1982/3 and was a prize winner at the prestigious Benson & Hedges Illustration competition, the prize winners being shown at The Mall Galleries, and then on tour throughout the UK . Anne went on to win the competition outright in 1984/5. This work was purchased by the director of the PR company handling the competition.. See Heartbreak Gallery, London.
