An observatory precision regulator longcase clock by Richard Millar of Edinburgh. Circa 1830s/40s.
The precision regulator is housed in a superb heavily detailed carved Mahogany case with glass to the front door, it has a 12” silvered dial showing minutes, hours and seconds, which is covered with a mahogany bezel and convex glass.
This stunning quality 8-day movement has both ‘maintaining power and dead beat’ escapement.
Visible through the lockable main front door can be seen the very heavy pendulum, weight, pulley and beat plaque.
This clock is fully restored and guaranteed and local delivery and set up by dealer available.
