In the manner of Francis Elkins 1888-1953 an Arts & Crafts style ratchet oak candle stand. A striking and sculptural candle stand, beautifully hand-carved in solid oak and featuring an ingenious adjustable ratchet mechanism. Both functional and artistic, this exceptional piece stands as a testament to the movement’s devotion to craftsmanship, integrity of materials, and purposeful design. The vertical form is animated by its original saw-tooth ratchet system, allowing the candle height to be adjusted with ease — a practical and visually captivating feature from the pre-electric lighting era. Max height 150cm and folded 94cm.
