Description
Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875) is a noted French sculptor and painter who as a student won the coveted Prix de Rome in 1854. His clients included royalty.
‘L’Espiègle’ (the mischievous one) was created in the 1860s and appears in marble, terracotta and bronze - this a signed bronze.
Bronze 36cm high, base 13cm high x 11cm square.
