Description
A very large and good quality 19th Century Swiss Black Forest Bear stick / umbrella stand.
Brienz, Switzerland circa 1890.
Standing 120 centimeters tall, carved from Linden wood in the Brienz region of Switzerland, a wonderful and rare Black Forest Bear stick / umbrella stand. The carving is of the finest quality, having original glass eyes, tin drip pan.
Well executed and of large proportions having a full scale standing bear, usually the bear stands on carved rocks which makes a much shorter bear in size. The facial expression being extremely realistic.
Excellent condition, of fine colour and patination.
