Description

Hog splitter with wood handle, made by Thomas Turner, (Date unknown). The factory was founded in Sheffield, England, in 1802, and based at the Suffolk Works on Suffolk Street. One of the many cutlers that have contributed to Sheffield's reputation as a centre for the quality manufacturing of cutlery.
Thomas Turner founded on 1802.
Granted the mark of ENCORE in 1805
Went bankrupt in 1932 and was taken over by Viners.
