Description

German World War II Kriegsmarine Service Binoculars. Made by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar, identified by the code “beh”, with the KF marking meaning cold weather grease being used for the internal mechanism. This designation started in mid 1942. Likely used on a U Boat as officers glasses, as the cold weather grease was used in the North Atlantic. Magnification is 7 x 50 and the lenses are still clear and work well. The body of the binoculars are marked with the Kriegsmarine eagle, swastika and M.
Unusually, the hardened leather case in good condition is still present with the spare lenses and rubber eyepieces in excellent condition. The case again being marked with the Kriegsmarine eagle, swastika and M.
Rarely found in such complete and good condition, this item will grace any collection or even museum.
