Description
This is a very rare and highly desirable original printed wanted poster for the great train robbery. This was the first poster printed after the heist, before the police knew how much was actually stolen. All it states as being taken is Registered Packets. The robbery took place on the 8th August 1963 in Buckinghamshire, the robbers stopped the Glasgow to Euston mail train. A total of £2.61 million was stolen. We have only ever seen one other copy of this poster, and that was a photograph. At the base of the poster are the printed words, Printed by the Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District, New Scotland Yard SW1. Some light restoration to this original poster has been carried out by a professional conservator, and we have had it recently framed. The glazing is a special 99% UV protection, so it will not fade.
