Description

A fine framed antique etching of The Guild Chapel at Stratford-Upon-Avon. It is by Mortimer Luddington Menpes (1855-1938) an Australian born artist who moved to London in the 1870's. He was a larger than life character who mixed with British high society, including the artist James McNeill Whistler. The etching is pencil signed Mortimer Menpes and is window mounted, glazed and gilt framed. The reverse with title and framers details. Image size 39cm high by 27cm wide. Frames size 60cm high by 46cm wide. Dealer Code: 3144.
