Description
Early Engraving in Colour of Alveston in Side Plan. 18th-century copperplate engraving titled "Alveston the Seat of Edward Hill Esq.", created by the Dutch-born engraver Johannes Kip. The engraving depicts a bird's-eye view of Alveston Manor House, now known as Old Church Farm, in Gloucestershire, England.
This print was published in 1712 as part of Sir Robert Atkyns's book, "The Ancient and Present State of Glocestershire". Johannes Kip (c. 1653–1722) was known for his sweeping "bird's-eye views" of English country estates. His work, including this piece, is highly sought after by collectors for both its aesthetic and historical value
