Description
An original watercolour painting titled “At The Beach” by Gordon King, signed by the artist. The artwork depicts a seated woman in a light dress on a beach, rendered in soft, natural tones with delicate brushwork typical of King’s style. The piece is presented in a decorative frame with a double mount, complementing the composition. A finely detailed and well-balanced example of the artist’s work. Halcyon Gallery label to the verso.

"Gordon King was born on the 6th June, 1939 in London and spent the war years in Fife. Scotland, the home of his father. After the war the family returned to England and settled in Reading.
He studied life drawing and painting at Reading University Art School and later trained as an illustrator at Carlton Studios. At 22 he became freelance, working for major magazines and advertising agencies, illustrating books and developing his portraits and paintings. In 1966 he moved to a studio in a Buckinghamshire village.
Gordon King has had numerous one-man exhibitions and regularly exhibits at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
He was regarded as one of the country’s finest contemporary watercolourists. Gordon’s ability to portray his subjects with a delightful delicacy and atmosphere has earned him considerable acclaim throughout the art world.
