A very good oil on canvas painting of two young girls feeding horses in a field with house to the background.
Signed W E Millner and indistinctly dated, circa late 19th Century.
With Picture Light attached (requires wiring).
William Edward Millner is Lincolnshire’s Victorian genre artist. Born in Gainsborough in 1849, the son of a local teacher and artist, Millner was to live and work in the county until his death in 1895.
His pictures were shown at the Royal Academy and a significant collection housed at Gainsborough Old Hall Museum.
