Description

A fabulous quality vintage watercolour painting on paper. The sitter is named as Kit Ward. It was painting by John A Blakey (1952-). He is a well known artist having painted many portraits of film stars, politicians and royalty. The painting is of an elderly man with thinning wispy hair. It is signed and dated John A Blakey 93 for 1993. It is presented in a window mount, glazed and gilt framed. The reverse with sitter details and a purchase label from the Royal Society Painters 1993 exhibition at Pall Mall Galleries. It was purchased for £3,600 which is almost £8,000 today. The image size is 37cm high by 30.5cm wide. The frame size is 72.5cm high by 64cm wide. Stock Code: 3888.
