Description
The front door is the cabinet's centerpiece, featuring an intricate, symmetrical arabesque style Boulle inlay using brass and tortoiseshell. The entire exterior is meticulously detailed from top to bottom with numerous brass accents and continuous brass inlay on the front, sides, and frieze. A notable decorative feature is the elaborate application of ormolu; the front corners are adorned with two impressive brass lady figures, each representing a Greek deity. Furthermore, each side of the cabinet features an additional two brass faces of ladies, likely representing another Greek god. The cabinet is supported at the base by two large, impressive bun feet, each finished with surrounding brass beading.
