Description
Provenance: Original gilt presentation inscription to the front front Queen Victoria to head Keeper Goss Overton.
Goss Overton born 16-12-1835 entered service with Prince of Wales as a Gamekeeper at Sandringham in 1864. He transferred to Windsor great park as Head Keeper in 1870 and retired in 1906.
He was awarded the Victoria faithful service medal in 1893 and died in 1914, he is buried at Cranbourne church yard Windsor great park. This item was bought from the family.
As was usually the case items gifted or presented by the Royal family were from their own home so this cellaret was used by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert themselves in their own home.
