Description
Overlaid and inlaid with brass in a Neo classical manner and made during the reign of Alexander 1st of Russia (1801-1825) standing on tapering legs.
Upholstered seat in sumptuous purple fabric designed by George Jacob who was a famous french cabinet maker to Napoleon Bonapart.
Georges Jacob (1739-1814) was one of the 2 most prominent Parisian Master Menuisiers and was furnished to the Royal Garde Meuble or furniture depot, from 1774 he supplied furniture for Napoleons residences.
