Description
Early twentieth century camphor wood campaign chest in two pieces with original inset brass handles. Hardwood lined. Turned mahogany feet. Typical of the type of chest that was used by military and civil service personnel when on long campaigns in foreign countries. They would be packed into crates for travel. Camphor timber was used to deter insects.
