Description
This elegant Edwardian period seminaire, or seven day chest, was crafted by the renowned London cabinetmakers Maple & Co. Constructed from high quality mahogany, the tall, slender "pillar" design features a flared chamfered edge top over a bank of seven graduated drawers. The piece is distinguished by delicate satinwood cross banding and boxwood stringing, characteristic of the refined Sheraton Revival style. Each drawer is fitted with original brass swan neck handles and retains its working lock and key. Raised on sturdy bracket feet, the chest bears the prestigious Maple & Co maker's stamp within the top drawer.
