Description
Original Antique 17th Century Oak Coffer or Chest with Carved Panels. This large and solid piece is in good, original order with historic repairs over the years. The lid has a lovely patina and has had replacement hinges through it's history and the timbers to the top have been strengthened. It still has the original back and floor timbers and all are solid, no sign of old worm. There is no lock, this has been covered over many years ago, and the candle box has gone though the lid remains. The front consists of three panels each with carved arch decor, and with carvings surrounding these panels, this certainly is an attractive piece with good colour and attractive patina!
