Description
Original 17th/18th Century Six Plank Coffer or Chest with Triple Panelled Front. Pegged Construction. A stunning piece in very good order, a sturdy piece with all original timbers, some useage to the original iron hinges and locks, and the hinged top has been strengthened. Internal open candle box. Unusually the height of the end supports is good, these have often rotted away to a minimal height due to the constant washing of the stone floors over the Centuries. The 300 + year life has given the oak a beautiful colour and age patina. Superb.
