Description

19th Century Pen Work Piano Stool.
With outswept scrolling arms, lift up seat providing storage, standing on tapering legs united by stretchers.
Detailed pen work including central neoclassical medallion, acanthus leaves and shell motif.
Pen work was a highly skilled decorative technique where fine ink designs were applied to wood then lacquered, creating a look similar to high end inlay or chinoiserie.
