Description
Circa 1890 late Victorian Carters literary machine constructed in mahogany with brass book stops and raised and supported on a brass adjustable stand that is raised on a cast iron quatrefoil base with each arm terminating in 3 toe lions paw feet. To the rear is the original label bearing the legend Carter The Literary Machine 2-6 New Cavendish St 125-129 Portland St London W with the serial number 89202
