Description

Potentially this rug would have been woven on a back strap loom hence the narrow widths of the 3 panels. The bottom corner must have been damaged and shows an authentic repair of a plain patch or weave. The bold bright design is similar to the smaller evil eye motif often used. Could they be stylised hearts either side? Early chemical dyes which have run in place4s as seen in a couple of the diamond motifs especially visible in the single ivory one at the top of the runner. Fun, in good pile with character
