Description

Woven by the qashqai tribe as a blanket in strip weaving. This loom can be easily transported as one end pegs into the ground while the other loops behind the weaver, hence the strip weave is created and sewn together in panels. These often carry the tribal peoples wares in, are used as a floor in the yurt or as a blanket to sleep under. Here they make for a great throw on a sofa or as a very decadent picnic blanket. A moment and period in time is captured here. As tribes settle the use of these nomadic items is no more and as such these wares are no longer created.
