Description

Persian Malayer Kelleh using early chemical dyes of the 1900s seen here in the hot tomato red, vibrant blues and orange hi lites. A bold strong visual concept of the main shapes, filled with the main central medallion is full of stylised flowers and fauna. Ther deep iindigo field and red corner spandrels continue in this style with a broken herati design or garden trellis being seen. The outer main border is bold in design in comparrison. Woven for their own use this is termed a kelleh rug, wide runner or long rug in its format. Wear is seen to the top left of the main medallion but can be restored if required.
